Furniture Repair Bank

Volunteer Opportunity

1914 Occidental Ave S, Unit C, Seattle, WA 98134

Saturday February 1, 2025

9:00AM - 12:00PM

Overview:

Join us for a fun morning volunteering with Furniture Repair Bank, whose mission is building a community of mighty, courageous, and empathic individuals while rescuing furniture from the landfill and helping refugees and low-income households.

Participants will have a few different options of furniture restoration activities to choose from such as painting, staining, sanding, and upholstery deconstruction and reconstruction. They will break out into smaller groups of 3 to 7 (depending on the total of people attending). No skills are required to join us as we teach every aspect of the process. Volunteers can switch projects part-way through if they'd like to try something new!

Logistics:

  • Parking: There about 6 parking spots in front of our unit and more in the back (please consider carpooling due to limited parking!)
  • Snacks: There will be a few healthy snacks and drinks plus a water cooler for refilling personal water bottles
  • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Masks, gloves, and eye protection are provided
  • Dress code: Please come in comfortable clothes suitable for a dusty space and wear closed-toe shoes. This is a warehouse so please come prepared for colder environments depending on the weather.

Please register to let us know you'll be joining!
